Originally formed in 1821, Sligo Yacht Club is home to enthusiastic sailors of all ages. We have strong Junior and Adult dinghy fleets, a competitive J24 class and great sail training courses.

Sligo Yacht Club is situated at Rosses Point approx. 8 km from Sligo town. Club sailing takes place on Sligo Bay.
Presently the Club has three thriving and very competitive classes:
⦁ J24s
⦁ GP 14s
⦁ Mirrors
Racing for J24s takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings while the dinghy classes race on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
The Club has a long history of running many National and International regattas with a sheltered inner bay and arguably some of the most accessible sailing waters in the country.
Since the club moved to its current location we host Regional and National events for both our local and visiting classes. We have also hosted five World Championships, four Europeans, and two of the infamous Pimm’s Dinghy Weeks.
Sligo Yacht Club organises a series of Courses for Juniors and Adults. The Junior Courses take place throughout July and August and follow the Irish Sailing syllabus. One formal Adult Sail Training Course is held each year but tuition can be arranged if required.
